"Love
without suffering is sweet, but it is soft and sentimental; suffering
without love is strong, but it is hard and bitter; but love that
suffers is both strong and sweet," writes Catholic philosopher
Peter Kreeft.
To
know someone in the deepest sense is to see them totally, to love and
trust them unconditionally. “My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and
they follow me," Jesus asserts in John's Gospel. God knows us in
the deepest
sense. He created us! Do we care to know God deeper, to allow
ourselves to be seen fully and thus transformed, and then respond to
the mission he's calling us to?
Jesus knows us. Do we know him?

Consider watching the clip below of
Bishop Barron on how the early apostles led the Church in boldness
and courage.
As a Church rooted in the apostles
("one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church"), we take inspiration
from the early leaders who went out into the world to boldly preach
the Good News of Jesus Christ!
“The nation
doesn’t simply need what we have. It needs what we are.”
St. Teresa
Benedicta (Edith Stein)
